RBA are engaged by City of Bangor Council on a three year project to renovate the structure of Bangor Pier.
We are commissioned to carry out extensive inspections of the historic Bangor Pier structure. The purpose is to identify structural members at risk of failure, most of which cannot be seen from the deck and much of it due to corrosion in this harsh environment.
Scaffolding has been designed to cause minimum impact on the structure, in order for access to be gained to the underside of the structure.
RBA have prepared construction drawings for remediation works which included sequencing where members had to be removed, to ensure there was sufficient load distribution in the temporary state.
Works are ongoing so that by the end of the programme the whole structure will have been inspected, defects recorded and made good.
