We are pleased to see this residential scheme for Blueoak Estates completed in Hoylake, Wirral.
Evidence that flat sites can be as challenging as steep sites, here RBA overcame objections from the Lead Local Flood Authority to successfully deliver the drainage aspects of this scheme through extensive investigation and analysis of soakaway solutions, and by designing an unconventional attenuation system that was approved by United Utilities after detailed negotiations.
Further constraints to design were existing live underground services and the proximity to a live railway.
RBA Managing Director David Ellis says, “I’m delighted, though not surprised, that the dedication of our flood risk and drainage team overcame the significant objections of the Lead Local Flood Authority in reaching a workable solution that was also accepted by UU, without which the development could not have been built. This is a fine example of the critical analysis RBA carry out when tackling such challenging projects to the satisfaction of our clients.”
